Need to inspire CHANGE in your school? Looking for ways to help students make positive life choices that alter the course of their own lives and the lives of others?
YES? Welcome to K.A.R.M.A!
Empowering youth to see themselves as powerful forces, capable of creating positive change for themselves and others is Trisha’s forte. From highly interactive and thought provoking workshops to multimedia and inspiring keynotes Trisha will work with you to achieve NEW perspectives that lead to unbelievable moments of personal strength and positive life choices (see the blog for student examples on how they used their own Power of K.A.R.M.A!).
Utilizing her experiences as an on air broadcaster and music storeowner, Trisha brings to life relevant details of our culture that CONNECT with students at their level. Through humorous life stories and upside down views on mass media Trisha makes a bonding connection with participants—taking them on a ride of self reflection that challenges any excuses for perceiving themselves as anything but GREAT. Topics covered in this 45-60 minute keynote or workshop include:
WORKSHOP: The Media, The Message and The Truth
We are all bombarded by the messages sent to us from cunning advertisers and those with profit interests as their number one priorities. TV, radio, print and the Internet work together to create superficial and unnatural needs that we, the consumer, believe are important to who we are and how we value ourselves. Sunless tanners, anti-wrinkle cream, name brand clothing and accessories, body shape and size are just a few of the thousands of possible examples. In this enlightening workshop Trisha uncovers media truths and engages students in hot topic debates that force the issue of advertiser ethics versus consumer responsibilities. Knowledge is power and in this case, can lead to life changing perspectives.
WORKSHOP: K.A.R.M.A for Girls!
K.A.R.M.A for Girls has been created due to an overwhelming demand to address issues that affect female youth–most importantly, body image and self-image. This is one bonding experience you do not want to miss. We’ll talk openly about “real” friendships, the effects of bullyism, personal uniqueness and more. The powerful impacts of popular media images will be discovered as well as concepts related to nutrition and health. Participants will learn:
Trisha’s programs are based on current issues that are important to today's youth. Program topics include goal setting, self-esteem and body image building, powers of influence, power of personal choice, community action and volunteerism. Workshops and Keynotes are tailored to YOUR needs.
